About Me

My name is Jessie. I’m a novice writer who dabbles in memoirs, fantasy, and YA fiction. In addition, I occasionally write posts for my church blog.

I love traveling, exploring, going on adventures, and reading maps.  But I also love reading the stories of women who have undertaken journeys that made an impact, on themselves or others. I started this blog to chronicle these journeys, whether fictional, historical, or current. Sometimes I commandeer my own blog to follow my own adventures for a while, since I’ve been blessed to have many. Now I have a fun-loving husband and 5 sweet step-kids, so I’m starting to write about our trips to give others ideas for their own adventures. I hope you enjoy them all.

Thanks for joining me on this journey!

Note: my “categories” are currently not working very well. Only one of them is showing up on the top of the page, and the others do at the bottom of it sometimes. I’m working on it, but for now it is probably easiest to just scroll through all the posts.         ~Updated August 2023

Asia on the Eco Earth

This photo was an early selfie (real camera, not cell phone!) from right before I moved from Salem, OR, to Southern China. I snapped this at Salem’s Waterfront Park to point out where I was heading. Since then, I’ve lived in small town Southern Oregon, the capital of Afghanistan, and the last several years in my hometown area of Eugene/Springfield in the Willamette Valley.

This is a great start. It looks very polished and professional. I can’t wait to read more.

  2. I read and wrote about Gudrun, too – a little bit funny since the book is (clearly) not new. I’m glad I’m not the only one.

Hope your writing is going well!

You go girl! Don’t give up your dreams, they may not come as quickly as you like, but everything has a season.

  5. Hello,

My name is Cliff Barre and my wife Tiffany and I are responsible green tourists and active writers for our Peace, Love, and Travel blog. I recently came across your blog and really enjoyed reading your travel articles. I would love a chance to speak with your readers about the idea of Green Travel Tips and how it can help them become eco-friendly travelers. I have some tips for before traveling, during traveling, and some green destinations to travel to.

If you think this topic, or any other for that matter, would be of interest to your readers, please let me know and I’ll start pulling it together.

I look forward to hearing back from you, thanks!

    Sincerely,
    Cliff

    • Hi, Cliff! Thank you for your comment. Sorry I haven’t had a chance to respond before now. My blog took a back seat while I adjusted to my 1st year teaching secondary school. Still swamped, but just had a week of vacation, so I have a bit of time to catch up on blogging! My blog isn’t really so much travel oriented as about personal journeys and living abroad, but I appreciate your offer about green travel tips. Protecting the environment is very important to me. If I come to a good spot to share those tips with my readers, I’ll let you know!
