The shuttle can move you along Going-to-the-Sun Road but requires flexibility

Glacier is a great place to backpack, if you’re prepared to be flexible.

A trip to Glacier is always better if you plan your lodging and dining options in advance
Plan your lodging and dining in advance, but be flexible! Haha! Yeah, all of that is Q&A is probably true but not very decisive advice. I’d say definitely plan lodging, then have ideas and back-up plans for everything else. Count on the drive along the Going-to-the-Sun road to be slow no matter what vehicle you’re in, because it is extremely popular. Understandable. Hands-down the most beautiful road I’ve ever been on. I hope you get to go someday!
